Katy De Csanady McEwen has been living and working in Nerja since 1984. After more than four decades of experience in the area, she decided in 2025 to launch her own company: KNOW NERJA Real Estate & Services. The business was born from her passion for helping people not only buy and sell property in and around Nerja, but also to assist with the often-complicated world of translations, interpreting, and paperwork in Spain.
Experience that makes a difference
Katy is a qualified translator and interpreter (since 1984), holding a degree in Modern Languages and Economics from Bristol Polytechnic (now the University of the West of England, UWE). She specialised in English, Spanish, and French languages with additional German. Working in Spain with these four languages means Katy has direct contact with people from all over the World.
Her professional background includes more than five years working with a legal practice, where she became highly experienced in conveyancing, inheritance matters, powers of attorney, wills, and testaments. Since then, she has worked closely with lawyers and notaries across Málaga and Granada provinces, guiding both foreign residents and Spanish nationals through complex transactions and procedures.
